What to do right now if every key is gone
- Do one last check for a spare. The junk drawer, a family member's key ring or the paperwork from when the vehicle was bought. A working spare turns an all-keys-lost job into a simple copy.
- Find the VIN. It is on the driver-side dash (visible through the windshield), on the driver's door jamb, and on the registration and insurance card.
- Have proof of ownership ready. Our team verifies vehicle ownership before decoding a key from a VIN, so keep the registration or title and a photo ID handy.
- Call or text 307-206-4218 with the year, make, model, VIN, where the vehicle is, and how soon it is needed.
How we make a key when there is nothing to copy
VIN-based key cutting. The vehicle's VIN ties to a factory key code. We decode it and cut a precise mechanical blade — no guessing, no filing. It covers trucks, SUVs and cars — most vehicles up to about 20 years old.
Lock reading. When a VIN code is not enough, we use professional lock-reading tools to decode the lock cylinder and generate a working key, without damaging the vehicle.
Programming the immobilizer. Cutting a blade is only half the job. Modern vehicles will not start unless the key's chip or smart-key signal is registered with the immobilizer. We program new keys at the vehicle and re-flash the immobilizer when needed. As a NASTF-certified Vehicle Security Shop, we can securely pull the security codes newer vehicles require, including push-to-start smart keys.
On European coverage we are careful: we can supply and program Mercedes-Benz keys up to the 2013 model year; Mercedes-Benz models after 2013 have to go to the dealer. BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Land Rover and other European makes are case by case — text 307-206-4218 with the year, make, model and VIN.
Every key from us includes a 3-year warranty. See our key fob replacement and programming page for how fobs and remotes fit into the same visit.
Most customers skip the tow
A lot of national advice tells smart-key owners to tow the vehicle to a dealer. In Wyoming that can mean a long tow, a wait for a service slot, and then the key bill on top. Because our team comes to the vehicle and programs on-site, most all-keys-lost customers skip the tow. Pricing is typically around 25% less than the dealer, and the vehicle can stay where it already is.
Dealership lots: car dealership key service.
Emergency priority or scheduled visit: how to get the best price
If someone needs us now, emergency priority service is available for a $500 trip charge, plus the key and programming. If the vehicle can wait a few days, schedule our next regular visit instead — no travel fee on a scheduled visit, and that is the best price.
Riverton and Lander are on our daily schedule, Casper weekly, Jackson and Thermopolis–Worland every two weeks, and Cody–Powell, Gillette, Rock Springs–Green River and Sheridan–Buffalo monthly. Exact key cost depends on year, make, model and key type — text 307-206-4218 for a free quote.
Where we meet across Wyoming

Once driving again, get a spare on the same visit
With one working key in hand, a second is quick and costs far less than another all-keys-lost job. Ask our team to cut and program a spare before we leave — every key from us carries a 3-year warranty.
Call or text 307-206-4218 with the year, make, model, VIN and location, and whether the vehicle can wait for a scheduled visit or needs emergency priority.
