Key won't turn? “Key not detected” and no start? On many Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles that's the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN, sometimes written WINN) — the module behind the ignition. We diagnose it, replace or program the WIN, and program your keys at your vehicle. The WIN is the ignition switch and the receiver that reads your FOBIK key. When it goes bad, the truck or car often won't start at all — or only starts some of the time.

The key won't turn back to OFF or won't come out, or the dash keeps saying the key is in the ignition after you pull it.
The cluster says key not detected (or the key isn't recognized) with every key, even with fresh fob batteries.
If the WIN can't confirm your key, the engine computer won't let it crank. Some owners also can't shift out of Park.
The dash lights up and shows messages, but the engine won't turn over. Keyless lock/unlock may quit working too.
Intermittent is classic WIN trouble. It usually gets worse, not better — and it tends to quit far from home.
Not every no-start is the WIN. A weak fob battery, a blown fuse, or an antenna or RF-hub problem can look the same, which is why we test before we replace anything.
Chrysler used the WIN with the FOBIK (the fob-style key you push into the dash and twist) on many models from about 2008 into the mid-2010s. Changeover years vary by model and even by build date, so call or text with your year and model and we'll confirm before you pay for anything.

WIN stands for Wireless Ignition Node (you'll also see it written “WINN”). On many Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles it's the ignition switch in the dash where you insert the FOBIK key. It reads the key's security chip, receives the keyless-entry signal, and tells the engine computer it's OK to start.
